Mama Rosa`s Pizzeria in Detroit

This very cozy pizzeria restaurant has been a fixture in the West Park ( Cabbage Patch) section of Grosse Pointe Park for what seems to be forever. Aside from their terrific pizza, they have a very wide ranging menu, with all kinds of great dishes. Myself and a friend stopped in a few days ago, and both had spaghetti plates, mine with sausage, his without. The sauce was delicious. A very generous portion of Italian sausage with mine. Also delicious. They even make the out first tossed salad special, as the ingredients very fresh, with a mouth watering Italian dressing. The waitress was busy, but this did not prevent her from being very efficient, courteous, and friendly. This is a first class family run operation. You can eat in or take out. It sits at the corner of Mack Ave and Lakepointe St. Stop in soon. You will not be disappointed.

Went in on 6-12-2020 at 9:15 pm asked the lady to add one more oreo pie to my order was told it would be 15 to 20 minutes before I could get the additional slice but the person b4 me asked for a couple of things and she had no problem getting it for him I felt that the color of my skin was the reason that I was told to wait the pizza toke 20 minutes why would it take that long for a pice of pie

Efficient and friendly service. We ordered the fried zucchini appetizer, large greek salad, and a cheese pizza. Everything was delicious.

We arrived at this restaurant for lunch. we heard about this spot from a lot of people. Well, it was a winning. The staff members were very polite and we had a fantastic feeling. The meal was great. We had a great time and we shall absolutely come back again. Warmly recommended.

Great pizza and friendly. They enforce a policy where you can't sit at an empty larger table with a small party, even if there is no one else waiting. Frustrating to sit to wait for food while staring at an open table.

It was ok I had the jumbo shrimp they were good just a little oily but everything else was delicious they need to practice making garlic bread

They have great pizza here. The pizza is always well made with a good crust, a perfect sauce, and great cheese. I would recommend the Mama's bread with cheese. It comes with sauce and there is meat in the sauce. It is great. We also always get the antipasto salad which you can't go wrong with. The lettuce was crisp and the vegetables were all fresh. Great meal well priced. With the bread, salad, pizza, and a couple soft drinks under $40 for 4 adults and 3 kids.

Pizza is the best around

I grew up in Grosse Pointe. There are three restaurants I visit when I’m home: Coney Island (which has become a chain, and a sad reflection of its former glory), Buddy’s Pizza, and Mamma Roses. MR is a perfect blend of conventional pizza and Detroit style richness. Doughy, flavorful and satisfying. It’s like crack. I’d eat it every night. Do yourself a favor and try their pizza. I wish I could right now,

Started eating here after trying all other local pizza places. (Have eaten their pizza 25+ times in the past 16-ish months) They are without a doubt at the top of the list. Always consistent with the quality and service. Have some quirky daily deals going on as well, so ask them if/when you call.

Cozy "mom and pop" restaurant. Friendly staff. Best of all? FANTASTIC pizza! Crust is delicious and perfectly baked (a light golden color). Deep dish crust is not as thick as most, which is perfect! When in the area will definitely go back. From our happy, full bellies, thank you, Mama Rosa's!!

My wife's favorite pizza and pasta. That's saying a lot, coming from an Italian familia!Also, if you're next door having a drink, Mama Rosa's is their kitchen. Don't hesitate to order a fine dinner. It'll be right over.

Mama Rosa is a terrific restaurant. It might be the outstanding pizza that brings you in - but, the other selections will really tempt you. And - if you give in to them, you'll be hooked! Their pasta dinners are terrific so are the ribs and chicken. You can't go wrong. This is a classic neighborhood Italian restaurant. Very good Italian food, very reasonable prices.

Plenty of attention is given to their customers and the pizza is very good! Definitely going on the list of restaurants for when there is debate about where to eat!

Best pizza ever! Has to be whole milk mozzarella, because it melts when you warm it up just like it was when you got it! The pepperoni curls up, holds the grease from the pepperoni and gets crispy around the edge. The crust is the perfect combo of crispy and soft. The sauce is perfect! I get the traditional style round, no need for deep dish, even tho it is almost as good. I've never been to the actual location, but I order frequently from my work place. If you like good pizza, this is your spot!
